Site / Facilities Manager L1 job summary
We are looking to appoint a Site / Facilities Manager L1 for 37 Hours per Week, on a Full Year basis to join our team at Vale of York Academy. The shift pattern will be 7am to 3pm and 1.30pm to 9.30pm alternate weeks.
This role will be responsible for the security, safety, cleanliness and upkeep of all school buildings, grounds and facilities under the direction of the Support Services Manager to ensure a secure, safe and hygienic environment for all building users and may be required to organise and direct all premises staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety within the school. The site management team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and buildings throughout the school to provide a safe environment
The post is subject to some disagreeable working conditions as the post is required outside in bad weather, work with tools, cleaning equipment and products which contain chemicals, but the necessary protective clothing will be provided.

Vale of York is an 11-16 comprehensive school which serves a mixed catchment extending from the City Centre of York to the satellite village of Skelton on the northern edge of the City. The academy is over-subscribed; it has a growing population of more than 600 students who enter the school with attainment at around national averages, but with an increasing number of high attainers and gifted and talented pupils.
