Site Guardian job summary

Vacancy for Site Guardian

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Surrey Pay Grade PS4 (Actual Salary: Between £6,958 and £7,456 depending on experience.)

Do you or someone you know have 2 hours every week day to support the school in keeping the site safe and tidy for the children at Windlesham Village Infant School?

Although the role is small in terms of hours, the person who takes this on will have a huge impact on the daily operations of the school.

The post holder will be required to open the school at 6.30am, check that the site is safe for the children and undertake a number of compliance tasks for which we will give you full training. You will be required to keep the site tidy by regularly gathering the leaves, rubbish and keeping on top of the gardening, with support from a local contractor. If you were able to do some small DIY tasks that would also be beneficial such as unblocking toilets and fixing things – the children will expect you to work magic on their favourite equipment if it gets broken!

There will be bins to empty, loo roll to replace, floors to clean, walls to paint and there will be all sorts of tasks that we can’t even imagine, that is what is so special about working in a school. Although the task list can feel like it is never ending and ever changing.

We are looking for someone who:

• Ability to complete DIY tasks and regular cyclical checks

• Ability to work on your own and take pride in your environment

• Attention to detail, use your initiative to address areas that need extra attention

• Ability to be flexible, working within an individual school and contributing to the whole Trust as required

• Energy, enthusiasm, patience and a great sense of humour

• Commitment to all elements of safeguarding, discretion and confidentiality

We can offer you a supportive, friendly and professional environment to work in. Full training for all elements of the role and support from our school business manager and other site managers from across the Trust.

We are looking to employ one person to work Monday – Friday 6.30am until 8.30am, this is for 10 hours per week over 52 weeks per year on a permanent contract.

Surrey Pay Grade 4 : FTE £25,051 - £26,824, Actual per annum; £6,958 and £7,456

Applications will be reviewed on receipt, and we may decide to close the vacancy early,

The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 19th September 2025 at 12pm

Interviews will be held W/C 22nd September 2025
