Chantry Academy is a large, modern academy equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated to providing an outstanding educational experience for our students. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Manager to join our dynamic team.
Chantry Academy is a thriving and ambitious academy, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, and enjoys strong support from our local community, parents, and carers. In September 2024, we will be oversubscribed for the eighth consecutive year, a testament to our reputation as the first-choice academy in the area.
As Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our academy's facilities. You will be responsible for the overall management of the academy site, including security, cleanliness, general maintenance, and health and safety compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in all aspects of site management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of building and grounds maintenance, ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and security of the academy.
- Manage site security and ensure health and safety compliance.
- Manage all life safety systems and fire safety arrangements and take a lead role in emergency evacuations
- Coordinate contractors for repairs and improvements.
- Oversee the use of academy facilities.
- Manage the site budget and respond to emergencies.
- Lead and manage a small team of site staff, maintaining high standards across the academy.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in site or facilities management, ideally within a school, academy or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Practical skills in building maintenance, repair, and DIY.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative to solve problems and make decisions.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, students, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- IT literacy, including experience with site management software or systems, is an advantage.
