Site Manager job summary

Are you a hands-on, proactive professional who takes pride in creating safe, high-quality environments? Do you thrive in a varied role where no two days are the same?

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and motivated Site Manager to play a vital role across both our primary and secondary phases. This is more than just a site role, it’s your chance to shape the environment where young people learn, grow and succeed.

Working across both phases, you’ll be at the heart of our school community, ensuring our buildings and grounds are welcoming, safe, and inspiring every single day.

From leading site operations and driving improvements, to supporting events and ensuring compliance, your work will have a direct impact on staff and students alike.

About the Role

Reporting to the Estates Manager and working closely with the Head of School, you will:

  • Lead and manage the site and cleaning teams
  • Ensure the security of the school premises, including key holder duties and emergency call-outs
  • Oversee planned maintenance, compliance checks and site development projects
  • Manage site health & safety procedures, including risk assessments, COSHH and fire safety
  • Coordinate and monitor contractors and service providers
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and functionality across both sites
  • Undertake hands-on duties including repairs, maintenance and porterage
  • Support lettings, events, and out-of-hours activities as required

This is a varied and active role that involves both strategic oversight and practical, day-to-day site work.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in site management, facilities, or premises maintenance
  • Possesses strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance and building maintenance
  • Can lead, motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Is highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Is willing to undertake key holder responsibilities, including occasional emergency call-outs
  • Is physically capable of carrying out manual duties

Relevant qualifications (e.g. trade skills, IOSH, COSHH, First Aid) are desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • A varied and rewarding role across two phases of education
  • Opportunities for professional development and training
  • The chance to play a vital part in maintaining a safe and inspiring learning environment

If you’re looking for a role where you can lead, improve and make a visible difference every day, we would love to hear from you.

We welcome and encourage pre-application visits to meet the Headteacher and and take a tour of our school site.

We regularly review applications and reserve the right to close an advert early if we identify suitable candidates. To avoid disappointment, submit your application as soon as possible.

Synergy Multi Academy Trust

Litcham School is an ‘all through’ school which is one of 15 schools within Synergy Multi Academy Trust. Other Synergy secondary schools are Reepham High School & College, Sheringham High School and Stalham High School. Synergy MAT grew significantly in September 2021 when the North Norfolk Academies Trust (NNAT) merged with Synergy. Synergy already enjoys effective and productive trust wide collaboration, which is particularly strong in its primary schools, and the merger has paved the way for the next stage of collaboration between secondary schools. We expect being part of this collaboration will offer excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, but particularly at Senior Leadership level. This enhanced collaboration is now in its second year. To find out more about Synergy MAT, please visit its website www.synergymat.org.uk

Litcham School

Litcham School is an excellent school across both the Primary and the Secondary Phases. Outcomes have been strong for several years and our recently published Ofsted Graded inspection report judged the school to be Good in all areas. We firmly believe high quality Personal Development is the foundation of outstanding school–pupil rapport, pupils feeling a sense of belonging to and ownership of the school, positive school-community links and subsequent pupil progress.
