Site Manager job summary
As Site Manager, you will be at the heart of maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and security of our schools within the Trust. You will lead the cleaning team and manage the day-to-day premises operations, ensuring that our buildings and grounds are welcoming and safe for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Your role will include overseeing security procedures, health and safety checks, routine maintenance, and supporting community events outside of school hours. You will be a key holder, liaising with emergency services when necessary, and coordinating with contractors to keep our sites in excellent condition.
About you
We are looking for a committed and skilled professional who:
- Brings practical experience in site management, cleaning, maintenance, and security
- Demonstrates strong organisational skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Has a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for health and safety compliance
- Is adaptable and flexible, ready to respond to the varied demands of a busy school environment
- Shares our values and commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive atmosphere for pupils and staff
- Holds relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and is willing to undertake further training
- Has excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude, supporting a culture of care and professionalism
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar site management or caretaking role
- Strong practical and technical skills for maintenance and repairs
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Desirable Qualities:
- Experience in managing a team of cleaners
- Familiarity with school or educational settings
