Site Supervisor job summary

The postholder will be responsible for:

Maintenance and repairs of buildings, fixtures and fittings

Work alongside external contractors

To manage the fire alarm system and other systems within in the school

Touching up of internal paintwork when necessary

Staining and painting of external wooden equipment ie shed, fencing and benches

To undertake regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures, fittings and equipment, in line with weekly/monthly/periodic schedules

Complete general maintenance around the school building as detailed on the online system (IAmCompliant)

Tidying grounds and grounds maintenance

To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and be a role model for good H&S practices across the site

To identify maintenance and repair issues across site and log them in line with policy

To perform ad-hoc emergency cleaning duties where required

To undertake relevant health and safety training when required

Liaise with the admin and operations manager, SLT, and the admin team regarding jobs to be done and the ordering of relevant materials.

Be committed to the safeguarding of children

Supervision and Management

The jobholder has no regular supervisory responsibility for staff but may assist in work familiarization of peers and new recruits.


Creativity and Innovation (i.e. Problem Solving)

The main focus of the job is to carry out set procedures consistently but react to ad hoc incidents in an appropriate manner


Decision Making

The work is covered by clearly defined rules and procedures. The jobholder may make decisions in relation to routine problems which may arise while supervising the site


Resources

The job holder is required to use equipment and resources with care and is responsible for the maintenance of such equipment and resources.


Working Environment

The job involves some lifting, pulling and stretching. The work is undertaken indoors and outdoors.


Knowledge and Skills

Good standard of practical knowledge of and skills in routine maintenance.
