What skills and experience we're looking for
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and inspiring teacher to join our thriving Sociology and Health and Social Care department at Southfields Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist who can deliver high-quality teaching across all ability levels up to Level 3, and who is committed to making a real difference to students’ lives. You will specialise in either Sociology or Health and Social Care but will also be willing to teach PSHE.
Health and Social Care is one of our most popular and successful subjects, with many students progressing to careers in social work, adult nursing, midwifery, and radiology, as well as securing places at leading universities, including Russell Group institutions. We offer a strong and well-established curriculum across KS4 (BTEC Tech Award), Level 2 (NCFE CACHE Certificate), and Level 3 (BTEC National Diploma).
We are looking for a teacher who brings energy and creativity to the classroom, with excellent planning and strong behaviour management skills. You will have the ability to engage and inspire learners through a range of teaching approaches, bringing the subject to life with meaningful, real-world connections. This is an exciting time to be a vocational teacher with the move towards V-levels in the coming years.
Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, this role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and ambitious team.
