What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Special Education Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator to join the team at Cirencester Deer Park School. The successful candidate will contribute to development of our inclusive provision for learners with Special Education Needs and impact positively on pupils’ learning and on improving their life chances. Our new SENDCO will be expected to embed ambition and drive improvement within our Learning Support team.
Although applicants who hold recognised qualifications for teaching pupils with specific learning difficulties will be at an advantage, we are committed to supporting the professional development of our staff and therefore we are willing to provide access to relevant courses and qualifications for candidates who demonstrate the aptitude and capacity for specific SEN training to help them fulfil the role effectively.
What the school offers its staff
The school's values of Trust, Kindness and Determination underpin all we do. Our pupils enjoy their learning in a disruption free environment, and staff are proud to work here. Following our Ofsted inspection in January 2023, Cirencester Deer Park School continues to be a good school. Inspectors noted that:
- “Pupils welcome leaders’ high expectations of their behaviour and conduct… Pupils enjoy their learning and feel well prepared for the future.”
- “Pupils behave well in lessons and benefit from learning without low-level disruption from others.”
- “Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well supported by leaders in respect of workload, well-being and managing pupils’ behaviour.”
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to the safeguarding of our pupils and employment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and the receipt of satisfactory references.
Our Ofsted Report in January 2023 confirmed: "Leaders have established a strong culture of safeguarding. Appropriate checks are made on adults working in the school. Staff understand the priority that should be given to safeguarding. They receive effective training and report concerns about pupils or adults appropriately."
