What skills and experience we're looking for

Requires knowledge of school procedures for supervision of pupils during midday meal service, midday assistants and playground activities

Work is normally in areas which are noisy and may involve spillages. Playground duty is outdoors in most weathers

Support pupils needs in preparation and during therapies to include Physio programmes and Hydro Therapy

Ability to carry out personal care and follow intimate care plans, using equipment to hoist.

Communicate with pupils during midday meals to ensure safety, welfare and good conduct; liaise with other staff to meet individual pupil needs and ensure adequate supervision and exchange information about incidents and pupil behaviour


What the school offers its staff

The school caters for students aged between four and nineteen. We also have a nursery, where we have children between the ages of two and four. The aims for the students are to raise self-esteem, improve self-confidence, increase independence, develop communication skills and to interact with their peers. All students follow a topic based developmental curriculum that includes English, Maths and Science alongside Humanities, the Arts (including Design & Technology), ICT, PSHE and PE. There is an emphasis on practical work, relevant to the individual’s needs and therapies as well as interventions that work holistically to support each student.

We are committed to continuing professional development and research opportunities for all staff and offer a wide range of training opportunities which include core induction training in child protection, epilepsy and first aid, manual handling and positive behaviour support through Team Teach.
