Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Education and Medical) job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our small and friendly team. The position is to support a child with medical needs on a 1:1 within the class and across break times to achieve their very best. The position is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2024 with a possible extension after this date.

Skills, qualities and experience:

A passion and enthusiasm to work with children

Experience of working with children is desirable

Be enthusiastic and motivated

Able to show initiative

Have good organisational skills

Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations

Be dedicated to safeguarding children

Good level of education (GCSE maths and English A-C or equivalent)

Roles and responsibilities

Support a child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis due to medical needs

Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENco

Maintain records for the pupil

Liaise with the school staff and parents

Provide break and lunchtime supervision

Carry out training as required for the role
