Development Opportunity

As a Trust we are fully committed to ensuring that every child has access to excellent educational provision. Our strategic plan is focused on ensuring academy improvement so that every child attends a good school. The trust is focused on maximising its resources, effective collaboration will enable the implementation of its series of frameworks and the high quality CPD offer that supports this.

The Board of Trustees wish to appoint an experienced and successful teacher as Specialist Practitioner. In Harmony, Specialist Practitioners are class teachers primarily deployed to academies as class teachers. They demonstrate excellence in the classroom and are role models amongst their colleagues. The postholder will initially be based at Alvaston Junior Academy but may be deployed the other academies within our Derby Hub.

As a Specialist Practitioner the post holder will be expected to model excellence in teaching and learning. They are also highly skilled in improving outcomes for the most vulnerable including those with Special Educational Needs or identified as disadvantaged.

Each post holder will also be an active member of The Harmony Trust Development Team. They are expected to be flexible and responsive to academy and trust needs. This means the post holder could be required to support colleagues across all academies within the Trust: this could be by delivering CPD or coaching and mentoring colleagues. It could also be leading a specific implementation project.
