Specialist Teacher (Autism) Full Time
Required for September 2025
Salary: UPS and TLR
While the position is full time, we would be happy to hear expressions of interest from candidates who might be seeking a more flexible working pattern.
We are seeking a specialist teacher (Autism) to be based at Passmores Academy but oversee both Enhanced Provisions for Autism.
Visits to see the provisions and to talk to our Trust Autism Lead (Angela Smith), who is retiring in July, are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Angela directly to make an appointment (a.smith1@passmoresacademy.com).
Passmores Co-operative Learning Community (PCLC) are proud to host both the primary and secondary West Essex Enhanced Provisions for Autism, for the Local Authority. The Passmores Academy Enhanced Provision for Autism opened in 2018 and is extremely well established. In April 2024 we opened the Enhanced Provision (primary) based at Potter Street School. Essex have been fully committed in their investment and the Potter Street Hub is a beautiful self-contained unit with a sensory room. Our teams at both provisions are, without exception, passionate practitioners who enjoy their work. The overseeing of both provisions will be a joy to the successful candidate where the teams work hard, relentlessly, in delivery of best practise, are open to advice and support and proud of what they do.
Our successful candidate will have a specialism in Autism and will share the Trust’s commitment to inclusion. They will be passionate about meeting needs, positively identifying adaptions and adjustments for our young people with care, courtesy and willingness as core values. They will be proud to join our Trust and maintain our reputation for skill, knowledge, and our determination to do what is right for our families and children. They will continue to be relied upon by colleagues in SEND Operations for integrity in decision making and for working in strong partnership for the benefit of children and families.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of our Trust and make a difference to the lives and futures of our learners with Autism.
