Specialist Teacher (SRP - Communication & Interaction/Cognition & Learning) job summary

KEY PURPOSE

At Queens, we are excited to invite a passionate and dedicated individual to join our thriving educational community as a Specialist Teacher within our SEND Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). The children you will work with in the SRP will present diverse cognition and learning needs, along with a range of communication and interaction challenges. Initially, our SRP will accommodate 8 places.

This pivotal role requires you to take full responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated class of SEND children with Educational Health Care Plans. Your efforts will be crucial in adhering to the guidelines set forth in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document, Teacher Standards, and the National Curriculum, while skilfully implementing our school policies.

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

  • Exceptional ability to take responsibility for planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging and effective work programmes for all children in your designated class. Your work should align with national standards and school policies, ensuring that it meets the specific targets outlined in each child's EHC plan.
  • A strong aptitude for working with both individuals and groups of children, fostering a warm, inclusive, and safe environment where each child can thrive, feel valued, and grow in confidence.
  • A highly motivated disposition with a vibrant ‘can do’ attitude that not only inspires optimism but actively motivates those around you to engage fully with the learning process and each other.
  • A level of inspirational character that enables you to foster resilience in your students. You will have the unique ability to motivate others, creating an atmosphere of encouragement where all can flourish and reach their utmost potential.

Benefits & Rewards:

  • The exciting opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic team that is wholeheartedly committed to making a lasting and positive impact on children’s lives through exceptional education and care.
  • A passionate staff community that shares a unified vision; we aspire to embody ‘Love in Action’ in every aspect of our interactions with students, parents, and one another.
  • A truly supportive leadership team that values collaboration and creativity, encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • A variety of stimulating challenges that provide opportunities for long-term career development, ensuring that your professional journey is energising and fulfilling, paving the way for your growth as an educational leader.
  • A comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) package designed to support your development as an educator, alongside an employee benefits scheme that includes a day off for your birthday, allowing you to celebrate your special day with family and friends.

At Queens, we believe in fostering not only the academic potential of our learners but also the professional growth of our staff. Join us in a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of children with SEND as we work together to empower them to reach their full potential. We look forward to welcoming you into our vibrant educational family!

Thank you for considering Queens! We are a 3 form Junior School based not far from Nuneaton town centre that is part of the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust.

As a Church of England School, we have a really clear Christian Vision of 'Love in Action' (taken from Romans 12:10) that at its heart means to 'honour others above yourself'. This Vision is lived out through our Cultures which are articulated and embraced by all children and staff across the school. These cultures include 'Oomph!', 'Fall down 7 times, stand up 8!', 'Tell the truth - even if your voice shakes', 'Cocoon' (reflective time), 'Diversity!' and many others! A couple of years back, the children talked about all these cultures in a video when we were thinking about 'What makes us proud of Queens?'. Please watch it to find out more about our great cultures. https://youtu.be/w1d8WAm61zo

After you've watched it, please do have a read of our SIAMs report from 2022 because we believe there is no better way to sum up what it means to be a part of the Queens Community than what was said in that report.

We would always encourage people interested in working at our school to come and visit or arrange a phone call with the Headteacher to find out more about our school and see how you can fit into our team.
