What skills and experience we're looking for

About the role

You’ll provide critical support to individuals and groups of students whilst they undertake a range of educational activities. You will be dealing with very specialised needs, using your skills and experience to assist pupils in their learning environment. You’ll work closely with the teachers to monitor the students progress and development.

About you

You will have demonstrable experience in supporting pupils with ASD and learning difficulties. You’ll need to be confident, adaptable and personable so as to make a great role model and be able to think on your feet. A team player is key although you’ll need to be comfortable with working independently and able to cope under pressure.

The Access Centre based at Lyde Green Primary School is a specialist facility dedicated to students who have a primary diagnosis of ASC along with complex learning needs. The Access Centre will provide bespoke and expert provision to enable them to make progress. There are no expectations for our pupils to have any inclusion with the main school although we have this luxury should we feel it appropriate for individuals.

Lyde Green Primary is a fresh and exciting new school based at Lyde Green near Bristol. Our aim is to inspire and encourage a passion for lifelong learning in our children, sparking curiosity, promoting creativity and nurturing developing passions to ensure that our children grow and thrive on their journey through school. Our curriculum places huge importance on reading and a love of books. It also promotes the ‘big ideas’ of diversity, society and exploration.

The school currently has just under 500 children comprising two EYFS classes, three Y1, three Y2, three Y3, two Y4, two Y5 and one Y6 class. Lyde Green Primary School also has a Specialist Access Centre for up to 16 children with a diagnosis of ASC (Autistic Spectrum Conditions)
