What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised professional degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Be a registered member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working as a Speech, Language and Communication Needs therapist, preferably withing a children and young people setting
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Experience of working on a child Multi Agency Assessment Autism Pathway
  • Have an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Equality Act (2010) legislation and its implications
  • Tenacious practice to ensure that the wishes of children and young people are heard and affect decision making
  • To be proficient with the use of technology

What the school offers its staff

The post holder will work as part of a central team of specialists strengthening, developing and supporting inclusive practice across the Trust schools to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Delivering a high quality, effective speech and language therapy services across the Trust, working with staff and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes. Playing a key role in supporting the Trust to meet its statutory responsibilities, including contributing to diagnostic assessment pathways and developing inclusive practice across all settings.
