Speech and Language Therapy Assistant job summary
Are you interested in working with children and young people in a SEMH setting to develop their speech, language and communication skills? If that sounds like you, come and join our highly supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team working under the direction of our Speech and Language Therapist, delivering therapy, supporting school staff and changing the lives of young people.
You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum.
You will support children to achieve the outcomes agreed by a Speech and Language Therapist in conjunction with the school and family through a range of activities:
Working individually with a child/ young person within the school
Modelling strategies to class teachers/ teaching assistants
Working with small groups
Making resources to support student’s speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
The successful applicants will have:
Experience of working with children and young people either within mainstream or specialist schools
Flexibility to adapt both your approach and communication style in order to deliver therapy intervention which is functional and client centred
