Job title: Speech & Language Teaching Assistant
Reports to: Inclusion Manager/Class Teacher
Hours: 3 or 4 days per week - 8:40am to 3:10pm (30 minutes for lunch) , 38 weeks per year
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help make a real difference to pupils’ learning and development.
In this rewarding role, you will support children with speech and language needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and Speech & Language Therapists to deliver targeted interventions and provide inclusive support across the school.
Key responsibilities include:- Supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and social development
- Delivering speech and language interventions and monitoring progress
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and inclusion
- Assisting with classroom activities, resources and assessments
- Liaising with staff and parents to support pupil progress
- Has experience working with children, ideally including speech and language needs
- Is caring, patient and able to build positive relationships
- Has good communication and teamwork skills
- Is proactive, flexible and committed to inclusion
