The Prince Albert Community Trust wish to
appoint Sports Apprentices to start in the Autumn Term. This is an excellent opportunity for someone
looking to start their career in primary school teaching and/or sport coaching.
We are looking for a passionate individual committed to developing their skills
in the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport. The successful post
holder will work within a well-established P.E department for 4 days per week in
one of our schools. As part of the apprenticeship you will also gain a Level 2
Community Activator Coach qualification. This will be delivered by qualified
tutors at Kingsbury School Sport Partnership through weekly education sessions.

Throughout
the apprenticeship we will provide you with opportunities to:

    with qualified teachers to support PE lessons in schools

    primary competition

    experience in supporting primary festivals, including working with
    children with Special Educational needs

    coaching skills by leading lunch time and extra- curricular activities

IMPORTANT
Information relating to the role of a PE and School Sports Apprentice:


  • As
    Sports Apprentice you will be based within a primary school within the
    Prince Albert Community Trust.

  • Within
    this environment you will receive training, support and mentoring through an
    agreed tutor in partnership with Kingsbury School Sport Partnership.

  • As an
    Apprentice you are not a qualified member of staff and should not be on
    your own with a group unless there is an identified member of staff
    working in close vicinity. Unless you are a more experienced NGB level 2
    coach, in which case the delivery ratio is 16:1.

  • You
    will be internally trained to allow for your competence to be assessed by
    your school/club to determine whether you can give you increased
    responsibility with lunchtime clubs etc. At this point if you are over 18 years
    old, you will be able to given more responsibility with clubs

  • You
    will be placed in a school for 4 days with one day a week set aside for training
    and workforce capacity i.e. to support with delivery of competitions with
    the school games organiser at Kingsbury School Sport Partnership.

  • You
    will complete the community activator apprenticeship which will be
    delivered over 13 months
