We are looking to appoint an experienced Sports Coach to work with EYFS, KS1 and KS2, who will have an important role in delivering high quality PE, school sport and physical activity. It is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, creative and committed individual to join our happy, vibrant and skillful team.

We would like our newly appointed sports coach to raise the profile of PE, cover PPA PE lessons, attend external sports competitions/ residentials, support teachers with delivering high quality PE lessons, lead breakfast /lunchtime and after school clubs. The role will involve working co-operatively with the Leigh Trust Sports Lead, challenging and encouraging children to interact and engage in all activities, promoting inclusion and the benefits that physical activity has on wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who:

Has at least two years’ paid experience of teaching Physical Education in a primary school.

Has a good working knowledge of the Primary PE National Curriculum.

Has excellent organisational and communication skills.

Has experience of inclusion within the mainstream setting.

Can deliver a range of extracurricular sports activities.

Understands the individual needs of children and can develop and inspire young people to become and stay involved in sport and physical activity.

Is aware of the PE, School Sport and Physical Activity funding requirements and can record impact statements on to the report

Has experience in classroom management.

Can communicate with children, parents and staff effectively.

Is caring, fun, creative and inspiring

Has a passion to ensure the very best for our children.

Is available to work before and after school hours

To lead/deliver after school clubs for our children

Has held a clean driving license for two years and would be happy to complete the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme Course (MIDAS) and drive our minibus when required.

Qualifications

Essential:

Level 2 NGB Qualification in more than one sport

BTEC or A Level P.E

Level 3 qualification in PESS

Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or GCSEs grade 5 and above

Desirable:

HNC in Sport /HND in Sport /Sports degree

First Aid
