Sports Instructor – Harbour School Dorset

Salary: £21,730-£33,901 per annum, plus generous pension and sick pay scheme. 32.5 hours per week, term time only.

This isn’t just a job. It’s a purpose.

We’ve been on an incredible journey over the past three years at Harbour School Dorset. From opening the doors to our brand-new school, to tripling our student and staff numbers, we’re now reaching the final phase of our growth, with a total of 150 brilliant young people at our school this September.

Now, we’re looking for someone special to join us on the next stage of that journey – and that someone might be you.

Who we are:

Harbour School Dorset is a part of the Delta Education Trust. We are specialists in supporting young people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We believe in more than just education – we believe in belonging, understanding, and helping every child find joy, purpose, and confidence in life.

Our students may arrive with barriers, but they leave with belief.

The role: More than an Instructor

As our new Sports Instructor, you’ll be shaping more than just physical fitness – you’ll be building confidence, resilience, and life skills. You’ll create a positive, engaging environment where every student, regardless of their ability or background, can succeed and feel proud of what they achieve.

You’ll plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons, both indoors and outdoors, helping students explore and enjoy movement, teamwork and challenge. You’ll be a role model, mentor, and motivator.
