What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced school professional to join our team at Lord Deramore’s Primary School in a unique hybrid role combining responsibilities as a Sports Specialist Instructor (Teaching Assistant Level 4) and a Teaching Assistant (Level 2).
This is a full-time, permanent contract (Monday to Friday) offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our happy and successful school.
Role Overview:
- TA Level 4 (Sports Specialist Instructor):
- Teach whole-class lessons in sport and PE
- Provide cover for PPA and leadership release time
- Support the school’s PE coordinator in the school’s Sports Premium Strategy, including supporting teachers’ CPD in this curriculum area
- Lead 30-minute physical activity or play sessions each lunchtime
- Help coordinate our play leaders provision
- Run two after-school clubs per week on behalf of the school, with the option to lead additional clubs privately on other days
- TA Level 2 (General Support):
- Support teaching and learning across the school, including within our SEND support hub
- Opportunities for additional TA4 uplift when asked to cover short-term teacher absence
