What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our caring and supportive school. This post will primarily be to support the teaching and learning for our reception and Y1 pupils within the classroom environment. A strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and pedagogy is required. The applicant will be required to work as follows: Monday to Friday from 8.35-3.25 with a 30-minute lunch break.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS Framework and KS1 Curriculum
  • Have experience of teaching phonics and early reading
  • Be dedicated to support pupils with SEND
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and positive behaviour management
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Be innovative and resourceful
  • Have energy, enthusiasm and drive
  • Have a sense of humour and fun

We are a small school and nursery situated in the village of Woore on the Shropshire/Cheshire/Staffordshire border. We have 3 classes and a nursery. Our grounds are extensive and include a forest school area, daily mile track, polytunnel, outdoor building and a range of playground equipment.
