Student Support Assistant job summary
We are seeking to appoint a SEN Student Support Assistant. This is a vital role within the school which involves working closely with students and supporting them in their learning within and outside of the classroom.
The School
Wye School opened in September 2013 with a single intake of Year 7 students who delivered our excellent first GCSE results in August 2018, followed by strong GCSE and then A Level results in following years. We are a mixed comprehensive school. Ofsted praised our, ‘very vibrant and strong leadership... clear and aspirational vision,’ and, ‘high level of ambition for the students and the school.’
Located within close proximity of Wye village centre, the school is at the very heart of the local community and has the potential to grow into a truly exceptional school. Wye is perfectly located to enjoy the Kent countryside, whilst still being within an hour of London thanks to HS1.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will be a positive, responsible and flexible person who is keen to join the creative, dynamic and pro-active group that currently comprise the school's inclusion team. Wye School is a relatively small secondary school with a correspondingly small staff so it is essential that anyone appointed is adaptable and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.
What you can offer is always more important to us than your experience, so applications are welcome from anyone with a passion for learning and a genuine commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. However, as part of the inclusion team you will have the opportunity to develop your own specialism rather than just providing general classroom support.
Requirement
Minimum Level 5 for both English and Maths
Applications will be considered on receipt. Suitable candidates will be interviewed on receipt of application and Wye School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. A DBS (previously CRB) check is required for all successful applicants.
