Job Title:  Student Support - Duty Assistant

Actual Annual Salary: 22 hours equates to £13,207 – £14,396 / 30 hours equates to £18,010 – £19,631

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,941 - £28,275 (CLF Grade B) Based on full time hours, all year round.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part-time, 22 -30 hours per week, Monday to Friday / Term Time Only, Including Inset Days

Additional role info: Working Pattern equates to Monday all day, Wednesday all day, Thursday all day, Friday all day (However can be discussed at interview stage)

Provisional Start Date: January 2026

We’re looking for a dedicated, proactive, and empathetic individual to join our pastoral team as a Student Support – Duty Assistant. This is a vital role supporting students across the school site, helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting a calm, inclusive, and high-performing school culture.

You will be a visible and supportive presence around the school, helping students access lessons and stay on track, building strong and professional relationships with students, staff, and families.

You will:

  • Have a caring and understanding attitude, with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Respond to duty calls and behaviour incidents with empathy and professionalism.
  • Be patient, calm under pressure, and able to make sound decisions.
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above or equivalent).
  • Understands safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (GDPR).
  • Has experience working with challenging young people and managing behaviour effectively.
  • Can use IT systems confidently, including MS Excel and Management Information Systems.
  • Committed to continuous professional development, including relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, First Aid).

About Digitech Studio School Academy:

Digitech delivers a specialised curriculum for 14 to 19-year-olds, where we offer progression into the creative digital and high-tech sectors. We are located in Warmley, on the outskirts of Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Studio schools are small by design, and we only take 90 students into each year group. This allows us to meet the needs of students in a personalised way.

Digitech is a 14-19 Studio School that is a fully integrated part of the Cabot Learning Federation. We are a specialist studio school providing a bespoke curriculum for the coders, designers, creatives, film makers and entrepreneurs of the future.

The school is going from strength to strength with improving outcomes each year. Student and parent voice is strong.

There are 220 students who study at Digitech and both staff and students enjoy this smaller setting and the benefits that this brings.
