The Hastings Academy is looking to appoint a fulltime Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Officer to join our friendly and proactive pastoral team.
Within this highly rewarding role, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support, care and guidance;ensuring that students emotional and wellbeing needs are met
- Ensuring students attend lessons
- Assistingstudents that need to be removed for behavioural or emotional reasons
- Working proactively and liaising with parents and staff in supporting students learning and progress
To be successful within this role, you will:
- Befirmly committed to improving standards of learning and achievement and improving life chances for all students
- Have excellent communication and listening skills
- Be aconfident, calm and caring team member
- Be an excellent role model;offeringsupport and guidance to ensure students are fully engaged
- Have a good understanding of the learning and support needs of young people, gained in aworking school setting in a learning support capacity
