What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an energetic, adaptable and committed individual to join our Science Team and work with the Associate Director of Science to design, implement and monitor a structured intervention timetable. Whilst a teaching qualification isn’t essential for this role, you will need a suitable degree to back up your subject knowledge and be able to co-ordinate and deliver small group and 1:1 interventions to identified learners, including disadvantaged learners and those not making expected progress.
What the school offers its staff
The JCB Academy specialises in business and engineering, teaching learners from Y9 to SixthForm and providing Intermediate (L2) and Advanced (L3) apprenticeship programmes as well as an EngineeringT‑Level. Ourapproach pairs classroom learning with practical application, and we have an impressive range of world-class employer partners who help with that. JCB, of course, but also including Bentley Motors, Capula, Alton Towers, Rolls-Royce, Stoke City Football Club and Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Names that can turn heads with learners and lock in their learning engagement.
We offer a benefits package which includes an Employee Assistance Programme (financial guidance, legal enquiries, counselling, support for issues at home and at work); access to Blue Light Card, the UK’s leading discount provider for teachers, emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces; salary sacrifice cycle scheme; interest free financing through BHN Extras to buy the latest technology through salary deductions, discounted shopping and discounted gift cards and eGifts; access to JCB’s dental scheme (monthly fee); access to the academy’s gym; long service awards starting at five years; paid time off for birthdays; and paid time off for partner’s/child’s significant birthdays.
Situated close to Uttoxeter, you’ll have a picturesque market town on your doorstep and easy access to many independent shops, cafes and bars. Once you’ve explored that, there are plenty of characterful villages and cultural attractions to immerse yourself in as well as great travel links to major cities and The Peaks.
