What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint an exceptional Subject Leader of Maths to support the development and improvement of the subject within Yewlands Academy. We welcome applications from established or aspiring Subject Leaders. We are looking for a Subject Leader who:

  • Has a proven record of success with students in Maths
  • Has the ability to consult, devise, communicate, implement, monitor and evaluate improvement with a relentless focus on student outcomes
  • Has an ability to lead and aspire others
  • Is a talented professional who wants to provide every student with a great education and real choices in life, regardless of their background
  • Is enthusiastic and has passion for Maths and the potential of every student
  • Has vision, drive and flair as you join our supportive and forward-thinking staff team
  • Has a genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to Yewlands Academy and its community

The role will focus upon:

1. The quality of teaching and learning

2. Assessment and monitoring of performance

3. The curriculum at Key Stage 3 & 4; transition and outcomes for students

4. The professional development of staff

5. Capturing and sharing best practice with colleagues
