What skills and experience we're looking for

The Role

The Social Sciences team at TDA are an ambitious and aspiring team and are looking to build on that. TDA are looking to appoint a subject lead who shares the departments enthusiasm and unwavering determination to help every student enjoy, achieve and progress in Social Science.

The successful candidate will have proven expertise and be someone with a passion for their subject who will inspire and engage our students and be able to lead and manage a team effectively and know how to get the best from each teacher in the department. You will actively assist in the further development of Social Sciences within the School. Our PASS Department is growing and we are looking for an engaging and forward-thinking individual who will lead and continue to build the department.

You will:

  • Be a passionate, inspiring teacher of Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology and Criminology).
  • Have leadership experience and a clear strategic overview of all subjects.
  • Be able to monitor, track and analyse assessment data.
  • Have high expectations for the behaviour and academic progress of young people.
  • Use regular QA to identifying strengths and areas of development within Social Sciences, and in line with the principles of effective teaching.
  • Line manage staff, leading and developing the Social Sciences team, holding individuals to account for delivery and outcomes.
  • Further developing links across TDET, encouraging consistency within assessment, standardisation, and moderation.
