Icknield High School is a highly successful multi-cultural 11-16 Academy, situated in pleasant grounds on the northern outskirts of town. We are justifiably proud of our excellent results, achieving a Progress 8 score of +2.24 in 2024 and believe that we offer both students and staff a caring environment in which they can succeed.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and passionate specialist to lead our highly effective Computing department. This is a tremendous opportunity to lead a high performing team of specialist teachers who consistently achieve outstanding outcomes for our students.

We are extremely proud of the outcomes for GCSE 9-1 Computer Science in 2025. For Computer Science, 92% of our students achieved a grade 4 or above, 84% achieved a grade 5 or above and 50% achieved a grade 7 or above.

Successful candidates will:

Have responsibility to lead and manage a team of colleagues in the effective delivery of Computer Science across the age and ability range of the school.

To provide leadership of Computer Science helping to ensure excellent outcomes for all students.

To lead the development of the curriculum so that all students receive a rich and challenging experience of Computer Science.

Be an effective classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management and committed to ensuring all students succeed and fulfil their potential.

Experience of developing and holding staff accountable.

An outstanding track record within your current department or role.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
