SUBJECT LEADER FOR LAW

We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Subject Leader of Law to oversee, develop, and drive achievement within our thriving Upper School (Key Stage 5/Sixth Form).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional teacher to take the next step in their career, leading a high-performing subject and shaping the critical-thinking skills of our future legal professionals, politicians, and business leaders.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the power of Law to inform, challenge, and empower students, ensuring outstanding provision and sustained progress for all.
About the Role
Curriculum Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously review a cutting-edge and engaging Law curriculum.
Excellence in Teaching: Model and ensure the delivery of high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and support all students.
Pastoral and Academic Oversight: Track student progress diligently, implementing effective intervention strategies to maximise attainment.
Resource Management: Manage the Law budget, resources, and departmental strategy in line with the school's wider vision.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from those who have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree (Law, Criminology, or related field).
Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in Law at Key Stage 5/A-Level.
A passionate advocate for the study of Law and Social Sciences.
Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Ambition and a clear vision for the growth and success of the subject.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form. Redborne is also a National College Support School, a Leading Edge School and has Teaching School Status.
