What skills and experience we're looking for

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar, Alford are looking to appoint a full-time Subject Leader for Mathematics for September 2023. Ideally we are looking for a colleague who is:

  • A qualified teacher and outstanding practitioner
  • A talented and dynamic teacher who can teach at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
  • Energetic and has the ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues alike.
  • Keen to join a successful and collaborative department with good resources, with a desire to develop and bring new ideas to the department.

The Mathematics department attains excellent results with experienced, supportive staff. It currently comprises a subject leader, one full time teacher and two part time teachers. We follow the Edexcel exam board and are embedding the Mastery approach across KS3 and KS4. The department aims to provide depth and opportunity for all students whilst working towards producing competent and confident mathematicians who are resilient and resourceful, keen and happy to work on mathematical problems, whether in a mathematics lesson or beyond, and working towards more independent learning.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 22 March 2023 at 12 noon with an aim to interview on Tuesday 28 March 2023.
