Subject Leader for Physics job summary

Walton High is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and ambitious Subject Leader for Physics to join our successful department . Are you an ambitious and passionate teacher of science? The Person

You will:

Be a passionate, inspiring teacher.

Have excellent teaching skills and an in-depth knowledge of the Physics curriculum

Have experience of teaching across Key Stage 4 and 5, including exam groups

You will be a natural leader and capable of leading others to achieve exceptional results.

Be able to evidence a key contribution to sustained school improvement.

Demonstrate experience of inspirational team leadership/membership and development.

Be adept at challenging educational under-achievement and inspiring children to reach their full potential.

Have high expectations for the behaviour and academic progress of young people.

Walton High opened in 1999 with 120 Year 8 students. Since then the school has grown significantly and now has over 2,000 students on roll, including 300+ Post 16. The school has an excellent reputation and is consistently oversubscribed.

In November 2016, Walton High expanded onto a second campus at Brooklands which is only two and half miles from the original Walnut Tree Campus. Each campus now has over 1,500 students in Years 7-11 and a considerable Post-16.

Walton High is a dual campus school. This role will be based at our Brooklands Campus.
