We have a history that stretches back nearly 400 years but embrace fresh thinking and a modern, vibrant curriculum. We have high expectations, excellent standards of behaviour and pride in our extra-curricular activities that lead to academically successful and well-rounded students who are well equipped for life beyond school.

We are now seeking a Teacher of Science to join our team in September 2025 to teach Physics alongside GCSE sciences. Teaching high quality lessons and a focus on high standards and engagement is vital to the role. Applications from those wishing to contribute to other aspects of school life outside the classroom are particularly welcome.

The appointment would suit either an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher, as the school provides a thorough and successful training programme.

The successful candidate will:

  • have excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills (with particular focus on Physics)
  • be inspiring, dynamic and passionate about their subject
  • promote the HBS Values

  • A dedicated, well qualified and experienced staff who share the goal enshrined in our school motto “Per Ardua Ad Alta” – Striving for Excellence
  • A campus that combines state of the art facilities with historic Grade II listed buildings
  • The opportunity to work in a secure, supportive environment
  • A full induction programme for all new staff and CPD tailored to your individual needs
