Subject Leader Music job summary

We seek to appoint a dynamic and ambitious individual to lead and develop our highly regarded Music Department. The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring our students and be a team player who can motivate and work collaboratively with our established music teachers to achieve exceptional results inside and outside of the classroom.

You will be a first class musician with an ability to teach Music at KS3, 4 and 5. You will be dedicated to the promotion of musical life in the school and the wider community. A commitment to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school is a prerequisite for this role.

Main Areas of Accountability/Responsibility:

  • Overall responsibility for all Key Stages

  • Design and implementation of curriculum intent for the subject area which challenges, motivates and inspires students

  • Overall responsibility for curriculum, schemes of work, assessments, monitoring and intervention

  • Raise the standards of student achievement in the curriculum area

  • To oversee the analysis of data at all Key Stages

  • The effective line management of designated staff
