The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and student‑focused English Teacher to work with our highly successful faculty.
As a Teacher of English, you will deliver challenging, inclusive lessons that secure the progress of all learners.
You will teach, contribute to and implement a high-quality English curriculum that enables all our learners to thrive. As a faculty we seek to ensure our students achieve their individual potential and develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and character to excel in the fast-paced knowledge-rich world of the 21st century. There is the need to equip students with the skills they need to extract information, interpret detail, infer from language and structure, and analyse the writers’ message. Alongside this they need to develop their own creative writing skills and have many opportunities to hone their spoken presentational capabilities and confidence with oracy.
Your responsibilities will include planning and preparing high-quality lessons, assessing student work, providing feedback, establishing and maintaining positive relationships. You will also have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities both in the English Faculty and across the school. You should have extensive subject and pedagogical knowledge alongside strong communication skills and the ability to inspire young people. A commitment to raising educational achievement alongside continued personal pedagogical development are essential.
You will be part of our very successful and popular English Faculty joining our team of eight English specialists and will play a key role in further developing our shared pedagogical vision and curriculum.
