Subject Team Leader Music job summary
Houlton School is seeking to appoint an inspirational Subject Team Leader who will lead the Music curriclum in the ambitious strategic vision to provide a world-class education for all. Houlton School is due to welcome its second cohort of Year 7 students in September 2022 and this is an exciting once in a lifetime opportunity for a talented and innovative practitioner to be a part of the founding Houlton family.
The specific remit of the role will grow with the school. Initially, the successful applicant will work with the founding Year 7 and 8 cohort and be responsible for their Music curriculum. The successful applicant will be an evidence-based practitioner, who embraces traditional values, whilst not being afraid to challenge received wisdoms in the pursuit of excellence for young people. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and focused on building the Music curriculum and schemes of learning for the future. Houlton School occupies an iconic local landmark building set in 20 acres of countryside. The Grade II listed buildings will be home to state-of-of-the-art facilities, including specialist Performing and Visual Arts Studios, Radio Broadcast facilities, a brand new Sixth Form Centre, a Sports England compliant Sports Centre and two purpose-built teaching blocks for Humanities and STEM, each well equipped with computer suites. Houlton School is an 11-18 Free School Academy and is part of the Transforming Lives Educational Trust, based in Rugby. It opened to its founding cohort of Year 7 pupils in September 2021 and will grow, one cohort at a time over the coming years.
Houlton is a brand new, £39 campus-style academy, which occupies the Grade II listed former Rugby Radio Station buildings, as well as three purpose-built, specialist teaching blocks, all set within a 20 acre campus on the Eastern border of Warwickshire.
This is an exciting time to join the Houlton family as one of the first cohort of staff and pupils.
