You will join a passionate team of teachers who are committed to delivering the curriculum in engaging and 6 inspiring ways. You will be an excellent teacher who has the ability to inspire, motivate, challenge and support their pupils to ensure that they make excellent progress.
We welcome applications from teachers who can offer Psychology and Sociology to KS4 and ideally also with experience teaching KS5. This post is not suitable for Early Career Teachers.
It is very important to us at Houlton School that all of our teachers feel valued, listened to and mentored well so that they have opportunities to develop.
What the school offers its staff
Houlton School is a brand new secondary free school that opened in September 2021; set within a combination of fully refurbished Grade II listed buildings as well as brand new, specialist teaching facilities.
You will join us just ahead of welcoming our fourth cohort of pupils and the launch of Key Stage 4, so will teach across Years 7-10 in the first instance. Ultimately, we will have all seven year groups, including Sixth form.
Innovation, Aspiration and Excellence are our three core pillars, which are at the heart of all we do at our recently designated ‘World Class School’ – visit the website to get a strong feel for how we support you and our pupils to be the best you can be every day. We are the Houlton family.

Houlton School is an 11-18 Free School Academy with World Class Quality Mark status. It is part of the Transforming Lives Educational Trust, based in Rugby. It opened to its founding cohort of Year 7 pupils in September 2021 and will grow, one cohort at a time until there are pupils across ages 11-18.
We are fortunate to occupy a brand new, £39 campus-style academy, which includes the Grade II listed former Rugby Radio Station buildings, as well as three new purpose-built, specialist teaching blocks, all set within a 20 acre campus on the Eastern border of Warwickshire.
This is an exciting time to join the Houlton family. Already accredited as a 'World Class School', you could join us as one of the very first cohorts of both staff and pupils. Check out our campus here: https://youtu.be/zLjJVdqJ3eI
