What skills and experience we're looking for
Position 1: KS1 Specialist Support Assistant based at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy (SCCA)
- This post offers the opportunity to develop the transition of a child into a mainstream setting full time in Year 2. This would be a role working on a one to one, under the direction of the child’s class teacher and SENDCO.
- The role will be supported and guided by the SEN team with the view of building evidence for statutory assessment for an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). Strong Speech and Language and social communication skills will prove beneficial to this role.
Position 2: KS2 Specialist Support Assistant based at Christ the King Catholic Academy (CTK)
- This position offers the opportunity to work within Key Stage two supporting a child who has recently been awarded an EHCP. This would be a role working on a one to one, under the direction of the child’s class teacher and SENDCO.
- The role will be supported by the SEN team supporting the child to meet their needs as set out in the Educational Health Care plan (EHCP). Strong Speech and Language and social communication skills will prove beneficial to this role in addition to Cognition and Learning support.

Being computer literate, an excellent communicator and having a passion for high quality educational provision within a primary school, are also essential criteria.
Experience of working within such settings would be an advantage (although a desirable criteria).
