Brenchley and Matfield Primary is a one form entry village school with a strong Christian ethos, set in lovely Kent countryside. We have an excellent reputation for our caring and friendly atmosphere, with 180 currently on roll. We are passionately committed to continuous development at all levels for staff and pupils alike; with access to bespoke coaching and mentoring programmes.

We have a Good Ofsted grading (November 2018) which specifically refers to our confident staff, high moral and the positive impact our actions are having in driving the school forward. Our latest SIAMS inspection (February 2019) awarded us the top category for Collective Worship and we received excellent comments linked to leadership, RE Teaching & Learning which is all linked to our overall character and quality as a Church of England school.

We have very supportive staff, parents and governors with a flourishing PTFA which enhances our extensive extra and wider curriculum provision.

The school has strong musical and sporting traditions as well as delivering an exciting, enriching and creative curriculum. We have very good links with the local parishes and communities that we serve. We have strong partnerships with schools and multiple agencies.

The school became an Academy as part of the highly regarded and growing Tenax Schools Trust under the lead school of Bennett Memorial in 2016. This gives us strong links with Teach Kent and Sussex and the Tenax School Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).
