Teacher job summary
We are a looking for teachers who can provide additional support and teaching to children, in particular to key stage one. The role will initially be to teach small groups, ensuring they catch up any gaps and make accelerated progress. This will be in discussion with the class teachers but there will be an expectation to plan and deliver lessons to these groups throughout the day. There may also be the necessity to cover other classes for additional release time. The role has the potential to become a full time permanent class teacher role in the future.
The children here are well-behaved, hard-working and eager to learn. The facilities are fantastic with space and equipment readily available. Parents are keen to support the school and are positive about the improvements already being made.
This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the over four hundred children. If you really want to have a measurable impact on children’s life chances, Burwell could be the school for you.

Burwell Village College Primary School is at an exciting time in its journey. We have just appointed a new Headteacher and a new Governing Body and are putting in place plans to ensure that our children get the best possible opportunities to succeed.
We are determined that the school will provide the best possible opportunities for pupils and teachers and therefore we have invested significant time and money into developing the best curriculum which allows pupils to make choices and take some ownership over what they are learning. We have also given teachers more autonomy over what they teach and developed a strong CPD programme alongside this autonomy to support outstanding delivery.
