At Aspire School, we are proud to be a specialist provision for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech, language, and communication needs. We believe learning must be personalised, meaningful, and aspirational for every child.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pathway 1 Teacher to join our team. Temporary for one year with the possibility to extend. This role involves teaching pupils in a therapeutic way to meet their sensory needs, many of whom are pre-verbal and working within the Engagement Model. Pathway 1 offers an entirely bespoke, therapeutic curriculum that is rooted in each pupil’s cognitive starting point and focuses on functional communication, coregulation, sensory integration and life skills.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with experience teaching pupils with ASD and/or speech, language, and communication needs
  • Has knowledge and experience of using the Engagement Model
  • Has experience of working in Early Years or working with profound, severe and complex needs.
  • Is confident delivering a therapeutic, play-based curriculum and is not afraid to get messy!
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Works well as part of a supportive team
  • Has a positive outlook and a good sense of humour
