What the school offers its staff

As a Learning in Harmony Trust ECT Teacher at New North Academy you will :

  • Have the opportunity to attend a familiarisation/induction period from the end of their final teaching practice in June until the end of the summer term.
  • Receive an ECT salary for the days worked during this induction period and throughout the whole of August. This early start as an ECT means that you are paid during the summer.
  • Participate in LiHT induction with other ECTs in July and have the opportunity to meet current ECTS.
  • Attend an exciting ECT residential weekend where they participate in team-building and outdoor activities.
  • Have access to our well-being hub which includes Perkbox (a wide-ranging discount platform) and Perkbox Medical (a staff medical care and wellbeing cover).
  • Be provided with a trained mentor and Induction Tutor to support them to complete the ECT 2 year induction period successfully.
  • Participate in half-termly training (full days and half a day) and termly clinics (about an hour) with a Visiting Fellow from our ECF delivery partner.
  • Participate in weekly coaching sessions with their mentor to develop their practice.
