What skills and experience we're looking for
HTC would like to invite applications from dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed teachers to join a strong, supportive, and forward-thinking department which delivers the Eduqas GCSE Sociology course at KS4, and the Hampshire Living Difference IV Religious Education Locally Agreed Syllabus at KS3. We are a very popular GCSE choice and students enjoy their studies and the skills and knowledge that they develop with us. The department encourages brave and innovative methods of teaching and learning and is always looking for ways to develop our practice and provision for our students.
This appointment would suit an ECT or experienced ambitious, well-motivated and effective teacher who is keen to take on new challenges and is passionate about the study of sociology, social issues, the study of religious belief and practices, and moral issues. Applications from Early Career Teachers due to qualify this summer are welcomed.
What the school offers its staff
HTC is committed to providing the highest quality of learning for all students in every lesson and fully supports staff for their induction and professional development. We have an OFSTED rating of good (most recent OFSTED inspection March 2019). The College is always developing its practice and we welcome applications from qualified successful teachers who want to be part of a consistently improving College.

Learning and student achievement is at the heart of all we do, within and beyond the curriculum. We are committed to achieving excellence for all our students, whether it is in public examinations, on the sports field, in a technology challenge or by taking part in a musical or dance production; the opportunities are extensive. Our curriculum is ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted), providing students with many choices and different ways of learning.
In addition to this we are fortunate to have a highly dedicated and well qualified staff that teach engaging lessons and support our young people in becoming responsible and successful future citizens. Education is the key to the future: it only happens once in a young person’s life and we make it our duty and responsibility to ensure that it is the best it can be for every student.
An outstanding education for all is our vision and the right of every student. I welcome you to visit the College at any time to witness happy, safe and successful learning.
Mrs J A Summerfield
