Hethersett VC Primary is a welcoming, vibrant school located in a popular and growing village on the southern outskirts of Norwich. We currently have 305 pupils across 10 classes, increasing to 11 classes from September 2026. Our staff work collaboratively, forming a strong, supportive team dedicated to ensuring every child thrives.
Since transitioning from a junior school in September 2019, our popularity has continued to rise and pupil numbers have grown steadily. We are proud of the progress we have made as we have established ourselves as a full primary school.
As a school with real character, we are fortunate to have exceptional facilities, including our own indoor heated swimming pool, a fully developed forest school with a pond, a purpose-built art room complete with a kiln, and extensive, high-quality outdoor learning spaces.
The Governors, pupils and staff are seeking two enthusiastic and committed teachers to join our team. We are looking for teachers who inspire learning through exciting, engaging and effective lessons; teachers who create classrooms where no child wants to miss a day.
Applications are welcome from candidates qualified across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Ideally, applicants will have experience across the full primary age range. Subject leadership experience in Maths is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will:
- Have belief in all children, prioritising their learning, development and well-being always
- Have high expectations for all children to reach their full potential
- Be able to use their own initiative and work as part of a team
- Display enthusiasm, commitment and passion for the role
- Be professional, encouraging and inspirational
- Be able to form positive and supportive relationships with children and parents
- Be an excellent role model who maintains the positive ethos and core values that are important to our school, both inside and outside the classroom
The school will offer you:
- Well behaved children with enthusiasm to learn
- A friendly and supportive staff team
- A positive, inclusive school ethos promoting Christian values
- Full training in classroom schemes of work
- Packages and services purchased to support and protect your health and well-being
- Opportunities for further professional development where appropriate
Visits to the school are encouraged.
