Temporary 1 year Maternity Cover Full Time Teacher Required for 1st June, 2026.
Athelstan Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced KS2 Teacher. We are rated as a ‘good school’, in a wonderfully vibrant community, where children and adults from many diverse cultures, beliefs and backgrounds blend together to create Team Athelstan. We are an incredible team, who work very hard and who genuinely want to make the difference for all our pupils.
We are looking for a teacher to become part of this team.
Our pupils generally achieve well, but just as importantly we believe that the broader provision, we offer our pupils is crucial to developing the whole child and his or her unique interests and talents. Our varied curriculum has enabled us to achieve many awards, recognising the high quality of our subject leadership and delivery; these include the Primary Science Gilt mark, the Platinum Sports’ mark and the Gold Arts’ mark. In addition to these awards, we have also been granted Green Flag Eco-school status with Distinction for 2 consecutive years.
For a number of years, we were the model school for Read, Write, Inc in Sheffield until this system was discontinued.
This maternity cover is within KS2.

We are looking for a Teacher who:
- Is highly motivated with experience of teaching children of all abilities including KS2.
- Is able to communicate, enthuse and inspire
- Can demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to working in a wonderfully diverse school community
- Have a strong commitment to teamwork
- Are committed to an inclusive philosophy of education
- Have a desire to play an active role in the development of the school and to use their own skills, talents and interests for the benefit of children
