We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher and KS4 Pastoral Lead to join our Academy which holds a Good Ofsted status. We are seeking an excellent, highly qualified and well-organised teacher with experience in the pastoral work of a school, who is able to communicate an enthusiasm for learning and foster a strong family partnership. Applicants should have credibility with colleagues, students and families and a proven track record of diffusing volatile/challenging situations and responding to vulnerable students. The capacity to priortise, delegate and utilise support is also a key requirement. The successful candidate will lead a subject area which will be agreed by the Headteacher.
You will lead and deliver high quality lessons within a subject area and be the KS4 Pastoral Lead. As part of our dedicated and supportive team, you will demonstrate a calm and consistent approach to working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will lead a nurturing learning environment and build positive relationships with the students. You will have a flexible and creative attitude and will have an approachable and resilient manner. You will be keen to join in with activities with the students outside of their directed lessons and will be part of a vertical tutor group team.
Due to the flexible nature of the role, if you are teacher who is passionate about working with students with SEMH difficulties and can see the potential in all learners, then we would love to hear from you. A sense of humour is essential, and understanding of attachment, trauma based approaches and social development will be an advantage. Experience of the primary curriculum could be an advantage but is not essential.

Ramsden Hall Academy works with over 100 secondary-age and Year 6 male students who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs offering a residential provision.
The Academy aims to support all students with their specific needs and barriers to learning to enable them to reach their full potential both academically and in terms of managing their behaviour. This is achieved by providing high quality teaching and learning and by using assessment, engagement and developing educational programmes. The Academy works actively with students and their parents/carers to ensure positive outcomes for all.
