The Sixth Form College, Solihull is a large, culturally diverse specialist in A Levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications, and part of the Summit Learning Trust.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, committed and inspirational teacher to teach Biology at Level 3. This post is a maternity cover for up to one year. You will join a large team dedicated to delivering high quality outcomes for students in a well-resourced and well-equipped environment.
It is envisaged that you will deliver A Level Biology and BTEC Applied Science. You will have a relevant degree and/or an equivalent vocational qualification as well as a teaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, challenging and supportive A level and vocational lessons
- Inspire learners to achieve excellent outcomes
- Use innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies to support progress
- Contribute to the wider life of the College, including enrichment and pastoral support
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to enhance student outcomes

- A recognised teaching qualification
- Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to continuous professional development
- Demonstrates a passion for working with post-16 learners, raising aspirations and achievement
- Has the ability to motivate, inspire and challenge students of all abilities
- Demonstrates creativity, flexibility and resilience in their approach
- Builds strong, positive relationships with learners, parents and carers, and colleagues
