What skills and experience we're looking for

Leeds Mathematics School are seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague to the role of Teacher of Mathematics and Further Mathematics & TLR: Extra-curricular activities. In this role, you will

  • Teach A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • Develop and lead coherent and impactful extra-curricular programmes alongside the academic timetable, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and Tuesday Afternoon Enrichment, ensuring that all students participate successfully, in particular students with SEND and students who are Widening Participation Eligible.
  • Contribute actively to the successful delivery of the whole vision for Leeds Mathematics School, including LMaS’ commitment to providing coherent and impactful

o super-curricular programmes alongside the academic timetable;

o trips and visits;

o academic support to ensure that all students achieve highly, in particular students with SEND and students who are Widening Participation Eligible;

o outreach enrichment programmes for high-attaining KS2, 3 and 4 students;

o mathematics CPD programmes for primary and secondary teachers.

If you are the ideal applicant, you will have

  • A strong honours degree in Mathematics, or in a subject containing a considerable amount of Pure Mathematics.
  • Current experience of teaching outstanding lessons to high-attaining secondary or post-16 students.
  • Passionate commitment to the power of education to ‘change the deal’ for disadvantaged students.
