Nature of the Department and Courses Offered
Physics sits within the newly combined Chemical and Physical Sciences Department. Numbers are incredibly healthy with around 600 students studying within the department. Approximately 250 of these study Physics. There are twelve members of teaching staff (5 of which teach Physics) and three dedicated technicians. The department offers the following courses:
A Level Physics (OCR A)
A Level Chemistry (OCR B ‘Salters’)
A Level Electronics (Eduqas)
Staff across the department have also contributed to the teaching of A Level Maths, Core Maths, EPQ and L2 Science.
A broad range of enrichment is offered within the department. Both Chemistry and Physics enter appropriate students for the Olympiad. There is also significant support for students applying for science courses at Oxbridge or Russell Group universities and medical schools.
Information on each course can be found under the Courses tab on the College website.
