Teacher of Art job summary
As a specialist academy there has been an increase in student numbers across all areas of the academy that cater for students with learning needs, autism and communication difficulties.
The academy remains over-subscribed and is recognised to have high standards. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain these high standards and drive forward their own unique ideas in helping to develop the provision further. They should be passionate about inspiring creativity in young people and have strong classroom management and excellent organisational skills.
Bradfields is an all through provision with specialists that teach within subject areas as well as specialists that teach in the primary and more complex provisions. Experience of teaching across the art curriculum is essential. A good understanding of SEN and the potential barriers to learning would be an advantage.
Applicants should have a clear understanding of effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement, and the care required to support complex individuals. They should have a vision and a drive to deliver meaningful and personalised curricula. Both experienced teachers and those just setting out in their careers would be considered.
The Arts Department is an established team that is continually looking to develop. Qualifications are taught at a variety of levels from Entry Level to Level 2 and 3 qualifications. The department has responsibility for art, applied art, drama, music and textiles. The successful candidate will be teaching art and require all round specialist knowledge of art disciplines including painting and drawing, textiles (including use of sewing machines), printmaking and 3D art.
As a member of Fortis Trust, Bradfields staff enjoy all the benefits that working in a trust brings. A variety of employee benefits are also afforded to trust members.
The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record check via the DBS system (for Children & Vulnerable Adults).
We are an equal opportunities employer.
Interested candidates are welcome to arrange a visit by contacting Louise Tombs by email louise.tombs@fortistrust.co.uk.
Bradfields Academy reserves the right to close the application window early should a successful candidate present themselves before the closing date.
